This position is located in the Infrastructure Management Section, Data Center Management Division, IT Service Operations Directorate, Office of the Chief Information Officer.  This position is 100% onsite.

Duties

This position is located in the Infrastructure Management Section (Section) of the Data Center Management Division (Division), IT Service Operations Directorate (Directorate), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The incumbent reports to the Section Head and serves as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist with responsibility for oversight and execution of installation, maintenance, power/cooling, networking wiring, shipping/receiving, and inventory of IT equipment and associated datacenter software.

Applicants must have had progressively responsible experience and training sufficient in scope and quality to furnish them with an acceptable level of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform equipment analysis. ** Ability to perform IT research and analysis work. ** Ability to conduct systems analysis, testing and evaluation. ** Ability to interact collaboratively with others. Ability to analyze and document IT requirements. Ability to identify and recommend approaches to meet IT needs. Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing

Education

Basic Requirements

This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience.

Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions

Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

GS 11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

Official transcripts will be required if selected. Failure to submit the required legible documentation at the time of application will result in disqualification of your application.

Foreign Education – Education completed outside the U.S. must be deemed equivalent to conventional/accredited U.S. education programs to be acceptable for Federal employment. If your college/university is outside the U.S., your transcripts must be accompanied by a report from a credential evaluation service that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credentials Evaluators (AICE).

Failure to submit a foreign education evaluation report will result in disqualification of your application.
