This position is located in the Recreaction Department, Athletic Programs Division, Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida. This position is responsible for assisting the Fitness Director in monitoring patron use of the exercise equipment and facilities in support of Recreation Programs designed to enhance the fitness, morale, and overall quality of life of the active and retired military personnel, dependents and other qualifying employees of Naval Air Station, Pensacola.
Requirements
- Must provide a CPR/First Aid/ Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certificate, Navy Basic Certificate, Star Service Certificate, and NOFFS
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
- Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
- You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
- May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
- Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
- A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
- Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
Qualifications
Current certification in CPR and First Aid is required.
High School graduate or equivalent is desired.
A minimum of two-years' experience that demonstrates a working knowledge of physical education and/or fitness.
A degree from an accredited college/university in a related area or a certification by a recognized fitness organization (ACE, ACSM, NSCA, ISSA) may be substituted for the two-year experience.
Must be willing to pursue further education and training relative to job knowledge and skills.
Must be a mature individual able to interact with a variety of groups and individuals.
Must have ability to tactfully control patrons and resolve disputes. Must be a dependable and reliable worker able to execute responsiblities with a miminum of instruction or supervisor.
Education

A degree from an accredited college/university in a related area of certification by a recognized fitness organization (ACE,ACMS, NSCA, ISSA) if not degree, two-years experience may be substituted.
