The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland (USAO-MD) mission is to enforce and defend the laws of the United States of America through the prosecution of criminal cases brought by the Federal government; the prosecution and defense of civil cases in which the United States is a party; and the collection of debts owed to the Federal government that are administratively uncollectible.

Duties

This Supervisory Legal Administrative Specialist (Litigation Support) provides support to civil and/or criminal litigation teams for the United States Attorney's Office (USAO). If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Supervisory Legal Administrative Specialist (Litigation Support) support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Maryland, located in Baltimore, Maryland and Greenbelt, Maryland, focusing in the areas of litigation support, supervision, customer service and case presentation for USAS. Typical work assignments will include: Supervises subordinate staff of Legal Administrative Specialist(s). Performs a variety of litigation support tasks which involve electronic case materials to be organized, processed and reviewed. Consults with litigation team members to understand case needs and technical requirements. Uses specilaized software applications to meet the technical needs of criminal and/or civil litigation teams.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying: To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must possess: Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) the duties listed below: Analyzing litigation support project requirements to define project objectives, sequence of events, and/or resource requirements; Developing new methods, approaches and/or procedures to plan or carry out litigation support assignments; Providing customer support services to litigation team members for litigation technology applications (i.e. document review databases, courtroom presentation software, basic troubleshooting, or training); and Planning, assigning and/or setting deadlines for work to be accomplished by subordinates.. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. You must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted; recommended SF-50s include promotions and step increases (within grade increases). All applicants will be reviewed to ensure they meet minimum qualification and eligibility requirements before carrying out the rating and ranking process.
