About the Position: This position is located within Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) in the Directorate of Medicine, Department of Medicine, Cardiology Service, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Duties
Operate and monitor medical machines, such as electrocardiograph, Holter Monitor System, Stress Treadmill system, and Pacemaker Analysis System.
Explain test procedures to critically ill patients.
Identify and report severe dysrhythmias to the Cardiologist.
Eliminate artifacts resulting from poor patient cooperation and electrical interference.
Perform scans for satisfactory technical accuracy.
Contact Cardiologist in the event of patient abnormalities prior to dismissing patients.
Generate reports for the clinic and/or physicians.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement.
- This position is a Testing Designated position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
- This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red
Cross. Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.
- Incumbent must complete a pre-employment Physical examination.
- This position is Mission Essential.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- One year probationary period may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes operating various diagnostic medical equipment, performing tests that help detect problem in patients, and explain procedures to patients to ensure patient's confidence and cooperation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Biology, Chemistry, or Sociology.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
