About the Position: This position is located with the United States Army Installation Management Command, United States Army Garrison, Fort Riley Directorate of Human Resources, Military Personnel Division, Personnel Processing Branch in Fort Riley, Kansas.

Duties

Assign enlisted personnel who are engaged in issuing identification cards, tags, and badges for soldiers, their family members, retirees, reserve component personnel and civilian employees. Utilize personal computer (PC) and RAPIDS/DEERS software, or typewriter when required, types information on identification cards, takes photographs, laminates cards and processes changes to the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). Provide advice and assistance to unit commanders regarding services available. Maintain log of each card issued and periodically prepare reports.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes, Clerical or office work pertaining to the initiation, review, and verification of personnel data; research a variety of regulations and directives; utilizing automation/computer equipment to correct errors; and conducting quality assurance of services and practices such as screening records for specific information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer LiteracyOral CommunicationPersonnel Action Processing and RecordkeepingWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks may not be promoted more than two grades within the preceding 52 weeks.
