About the Position: Serve as an Exercise Planner in direct support of the Nuclear and CWMD Center of Excellence, U.S. Army Nuclear and Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Agency (USANCA) and Headquarters, Department of the Army.
Duties
Manage the DA-level staff actions and assistance to Army commands and staff agencies in order to integrate nuclear and CWMD operations within Army, joint, and interagency exercise programs.
Analyze exercise performance trends amongst Army formations to inform Army, FORSCOM, and ASCC training and exercise guidance.
Lead Army-wide efforts to analyze associated simulation and instrumentation requirements, develop implementation options, advise Army leaders on feasibility, resource impacts and assessed risk.
Provide expert advice and assistance to ASCCs and CCMDs for theater-level nuclear exercises including scenario development, pre-exercise academics, and exercise execution.
Provide expert advice and assistance to the command in all areas of exercise planning for the integration of operational CWMD tasks and nuclear effects with conventional ground operations.
Develop proposed concepts, executive-level briefings, Information Papers, Talking Points, Fact Sheets, and staff actions related to nuclear operations and effects in DoD, Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), COCOM, and ASCC exercises.

Specialized Experience GS 14: One year of specialized experience which includes assessing effectiveness of nuclear and countering weapons of mass destruction exercise planning and execution; establishing exercise simulation and instrumentation requirements; reviewing project performance to identify opportunities for improvement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
