Duties

You will correctly interpret and comply with instructions from other work and ensure work is authorized in work order. You will use proper technique and methods in performing procedures as prescribed in technical documentation. You will ensure that PPE is used at all times required and is used in accordance with local policy and procedures and ensure all PPE is properly maintained and cleaned. You will review documentation before doing wo0rk and ensure that all work performed is in accordance with the technical instruction, data, and documentation. You will ensure that any errors or omissions in the technical instructions, data, and documentation are reported in accordance with local procedure.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This is a Bargaining Unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current and valid certification as a Certified Technician.
  • This position requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. You must be willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.

Qualifications

Tasks related to this position include: How to perform the repair and overhaul functions as required to ensure the optics/fire controls systems and instruments meet operational standards. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
