You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST and Executive Support Staff, Code 1100, Code 1100, Congressional & Public Affairs Office, Code 1160 of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF).

Duties

You will provide management, oversight, design, and planning of the external and media relations public affairs program. You will analyze and monitor progress in terms of the public needs to be met and to provide advice on program information to various management officials. You will write articles and speeches for the Shipyard Commander and develop the external communication process. You will plan and coordinate briefings and tours for various military and civilian dignitaries to the Shipyard. You will develop guidance for all departments; review and authorize release of information based on DOD/DON guidelines. You will assign work, establish work plan priorities and set deadlines, and plan coordinated work schedule for the Strategic Communications and Marketing Branch staff

Requirements

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing management and oversight of a public affairs program to improve an agency's communication with external groups and develop new information materials (e.g., agency internet sites, news releases, fact sheets, brochures, booklets, broadcast spots, etc.) aimed at enhancing the public's understanding of the agency's program.
