This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), National Declassification Center. As a Supervisory Archives Specialist, you will serve as a first line supervisor and technical processing expert.
Duties
As a Supervisory Archives Specialist, you will:
Directly supervise a range of staff members to include archivists, archives specialists, and archives technicians, who perform analysis, review, and evaluation work for declassification and/or archival processing. Hear and resolve complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher-level supervisor or manager.
Manage the final archival data input and tracking of classified and declassified records Federal and or Presidential as they move through the NDC process and the review and processing of special media records. Apply quality control measures and oversee quality check surveys associated with final systematic or access demand processing.
Initiate and supervise negotiations with public requesters as well as with reviewing officials from Federal agency declassification offices concerning the processing service results and declassification review decisions for special request and automatic declassification programs.

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-13, specialized experience is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes experience:
Leading projects or teams to obtain information and provide recommendations to senior leaders or other interested parties
AND
Researching and interpreting instructions, guidelines and procedures to determine the appropriate actions
AND
Performing archival functions on Federal and/or Presidential records, such as; processing, preservation, disposition, data entry, or tracking
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
