You will serve as a Administrative Support Assistant (OA) with NAVFAC NORTHWEST.
Duties
You will maintain a database for administrative and clerical purposes.
You will use a database for records of service requests and periodically update files to ensure timely action.
You will use software systems to create documents (e.g., graphs, charts, spreadsheets) to track and record data.
You will use an automated system to create, edit, print, retrieve, or manipulate files.
You will compose correspondence (e.g., technical reports, presentations) observing proper format, grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation.
You will use web-based travel systems to manage travel arrangements for departmental employees and resolve any travel related issue.

- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card with travel and purchase authority.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Advise staff and managers on the functions, policies, and regulations governing the supported programs, and the associated processes to identify issues, effectively evaluate information, make recommendations, and recommend the most appropriate course of action. (2) Evaluates clerical and administrative rules, practices, and procedures to establish internal procedures, processes, and workflow; establish and maintain office filing and tracking systems; and review and prepare a variety of correspondence, charts, graphs, etc. (3) Initiates and prepares complex word processing documents, spreadsheets, charts, and graphs and to update, maintain, and create reports from databases. Continually reviews grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills and be familiar with established correspondence and other document preparation formats and policy.
