About the Position: Carlisle Barracks is an installation at the center of the Army and Department of Defense Senior Leadership educational programs. This historic post supports missions such as the U.S. Army War College, (including the Center for Strategic Leadership, Strategic Studies Institute and USAWC Press, U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center), and Department of Health Agency, Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute, and the Installation Management Command.

Duties

Provide day-to-day management and support of the administrative, budget, logistical, and personnel support functions for the organization Manage the daily administrative functions Manage the organization’s annual budget Coordinate civilian and military personnel actions using personnel systems and processes Serve as expert in government travel and the Defense Travel System Verify the accuracy of department employees’ Automated Time Attendance And Production System (ATAAPS) for each pay period

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays to support the mission.
  • May be required to be on-call after normal duty hours to support the mission.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) providing customer service; 2) performing administrative management functions; and 3) compiling and presenting data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-06) or equivalent pay band. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Applies Technology to TasksCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Manages and Organizes InformationOrganizational Awareness Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
