Duties
Assists the Aquatics Manager in the planning, organizing, and management of programs at a Waterpark setting and a Lap Pool facility. Performs the full range of supervision of subordinate personnel; initiates personnel actions, maintains staff personnel records, conducts employee meetings, schedules/approves leave, and administers disciplinary action as required. Conducts employee appraisals and makes award recommendations. Interviews and selects employees, prepares work schedules, assigns duties, establishes performance standards, provides training, and evaluates work performance. Plans, coordinates, and conducts the details of recurring and non-recurring activities, special events, and joint-community undertakings consistent with the military tactical and morale mission. Evaluates program effectiveness, represents programs to customers, and coordinates support services with Civil Engineers, Safety, Security Forces, Bio-Environmental, and Public Health. Ensures water quality and clarity testing is performed in accordance with Air Force, Bio-Environmental, and Wing Safety standards; reports deficiencies in a timely manner. Inspects pools and equipment to ensure they are operated in a safe and efficient manner and that equipment/facility discrepancies are reported in a timely manner. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Uses and assures proper fit and use of required safety equipment for all personnel. Researches, interprets, analyzes, and applies Air Force, FSS, and unit guidelines, policies, and regulations. Maintains an ongoing communicative rapport with base support agencies such as Civil Engineers, unit commanders, Security Forces, Bio-Environmental, Public Health, and first sergeants. Responsible for submitting all required marketing materials or work orders prior to the deadlines. Submits proper work order(s) for any maintenance problems inside/outside of all facilities. Works with Civil Engineering to schedule maintenance and conducts quality assurance checks on maintenance performed on facilities. As senior Water Safety Instructor/Lifeguard Instructor provides guidance and conducts training for instructors concerning lessons, lesson planning, techniques, and materials. As Lifeguard Instructor Trainer conducts on-the-job training and certification courses for staff members in Lifeguard Instruction, Lifeguarding, Waterpark Skills, First Aid/CPR/AED, Administering Emergency Oxygen, and Bloodborne Pathogen training; conducts required First Aid/CPR/AED training for FSS personnel. As Water Safety Instructor Trainer conducts training and certification courses for Water Safety Instructors; conducts swim lessons as needed. Plans, implements, and schedules all in-service training in accordance with regulations. Ensures all standards and regulations of the American Red Cross are met daily, monthly, and annually. Maintains accurate records of inventory items, tickets, supplies, and equipment. Conducts annual UFR research/purchasing. Assists the Aquatics Manager with the development of the annual budget. Receives and resolves customer complaints and requests promptly. Instructs, cautions, or expels patrons as appropriate. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI), State Criminal History Repository Check (SCHRC), and Installation Records Check (IRC).
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- Must have an approved and current certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR training. Individual must have or receive this certification prior to or within the first 30 days of job.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Must have at least 1 year experience in pool operations and knowledge of a variety of swimming facility rules, work procedures, equipment, and materials to perform unusual and recurring tasks; must have skill in planning, organizing, coordinating, and/or evaluating aquatics programs. Knowledge of a variety of lifesaving, first aid, CPR (both adult and child), water safety instruction, lifeguard instruction, and associated techniques and procedures as would be acquired through previous experience. Must possess a current and valid nationally recognized Lifeguarding, First Aid/CPR/AED, Waterpark Skills, Administering Emergency Oxygen, Bloodborne Pathogen Training, Water Safety Instructor, Water Safety Instructor Trainer, Lifeguard Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, and Certified Pool Operator certifications. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with individuals or groups using a degree of tack and diplomacy. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Investigation.
