About the Position: This position exists within the Office of the Chief Systems Engineer (OCSE). Located at Arlington, VA. Our mission is to perform systems engineering for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Data - Engineering - Software) within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army(Acquisition, Logistics & Technology) and in support of the Army Materiel Enterprise to ensure delivered equipment meets the mission needs of the force against any potential adversaries.

Duties

Serves as Administrative Officer and advisor to the Director/ Deputy Director and provides executive direction, assistance and support for all operations and activities of the Director/ Deputy Director. Conducts administrative operations in accordance with Army correspondence policy and procedures. Relieves the Director/ Deputy Director of detailed planning related to a wide variety of complex administrative management and mission related projects, issues, and initiatives. Determines the efficiency of current communication systems and requirements, for improved contingency and continuity plans. Assures that priority actions and those of a particular interest to the organization are coordinated, staffed, properly executed, and assures timely, cohesive, and appropriate support. Functions independently and is directly responsible for providing executive level guidance on administrative, clerical, and protocol issues within the command utilizing a variety of methods and processes.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: In order to qualify based on experience your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience at the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) level in the Federal Service which includes: 1) Analyzing information and data to assesses progress of programs, projects, and processes. 2) Developing plans and objectives for assigned projects. 3) Providing effective methods to issue taskings, resolve problems, answer questions, correct deficiencies and evaluate support to management to ensure objectives are met. 4) Coordinating Director's calendar, providing accurate concise and professional correspondence on behalf of the Director's office to include managing travel. 5) Maintaining visitor traffic/directing to the appropriate office. 6) Adhering to the preferences, priorities, commitments, and protocol of the Director by conducting correspondence and memoranda of general, technical, and statistical nature. create, modify, copy, or edit letters, memoranda, briefings materials, summary sheets, staff studies. This definition is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level equivalent to the NH-02 or GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.
