You will serve as a TECHNICAL INFORMATION SPECIALIST in the Technical Library Management Branch Code 213. Engineering Support Division Code 210, Engineering Department Code 200 of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.

Duties

You will support internal and external customers for library work. You will research, produce, digitize and distribute technical information for use by Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) and other Regional Maintenance Centers. You will use perform complex literature searches in response to specific requests. You will ensure the accuracy and consistency of documents uploaded daily to the Technical library’s SharePoint. You will manage the ordering and receipt of technical documentation in support of engineering maintenance operations. You will maintain statistical control of document return rates and take action to maintain documents in their most up-to-date condition. You will provides on-the-job training and recommend training for individual library members.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification via command sponsored CPR training certification.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying a wide range of technical library functions to include, acquisition, circulation, inter-library lending, authority control process, on-line public access catalogs, library automated information systems and Hull, Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering disciplines and related combat systems. Experience solving complex problems and making recommendations on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of operations. Experience applying practices of Fleet Maintenance Audits and performing audits on other RMC assets. Experience applying principles related to U.S. Military Standards and Specifications, Industry Standards Developing Organizations, Naval Logistics Library and Defense Automated Publishing Service.
