This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent will serve as the Department of Defenses (DoD) leader in providing credible, authoritative, and respected oversight, advice, guidance and evaluation of agency suitability program.
Duties
As a Human Resources Specialist (EL/LR)(Suitability) at the GS-0201-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Plans, develops, and coordinates Department of Defense (DoD) wide projects and policies in the area of suitability.
Reviews policy and procedures to ensure consistency in their application and recommends modifications; and analyzes and solves complex and sensitive problems and issues where policy decisions and guidance have impact throughout the DoD.
Develops and implements new or enhanced suitability methods tailored to the DoD mission and structure.
Makes recommendations on proposed DoD-wide program development needs and assessment tools that serve as the basis for legislation, regulations, or suitability program guidance.
Responds to requests for advisory assistance from Components on a variety of major operational problems such as interpretations of new regulations or laws on suitability.
Designs, develops, and delivers training to DoD human resources professionals, supervisors and managers, and other audiences in the area of suitability

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
1. Oversee the development of evaluation criteria for Agency Suitability Program.
2. Managing a Suitability program and policies at a Headquarters or Major Command level.
3. Representing an Agency before authorities (i.e. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB))
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
