This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent serves as Supervisor of Benefits and Work Life Programs of Branch Chiefs and is responsible for the administration of the DoD-wide Human Resource programs for civilian employees as well as managing, training and credentialing programs for DoD HR staff involved in the administration of these benefits and work-life policies.
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (EMPLOYEE BENEFITS) at the GS-0201-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as the Associate Director of the Benefits, Wage and NAF Policy Directorate as a Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise leader responsible for the oversight, management and administration of all benefits and work-life policies.
Oversees the development of benefit and work-life legislation and policies that provide comprehensive and competitive programs that support the Department's mission.
Develops strategic goals and assesses the effectiveness of DoD Benefits and Work-life Programs.
Conducts research studies and projects, analyzes data and prepares special reports concerning benefits and work-life programs.
Attends high level meetings with officials from other Federal Agencies and represents DoD's interests.
Plans, conducts, and participates in conferences and/or seminars involving DoD and other Federal entities.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
Planning, implementing, and evaluating HR programs to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance with Federal Civilian HR policies and procedures.
Providing leadership and direction in managing HR programs, policies and accountability activities.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, ensuring technical accuracy and provide factual narrative evaluations.
Ability to use tact and diplomacy in all interpersonal interactions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
