You will serve as a SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the SAFETY DEPARTMENT of AIRTEVRON WING NINE.
Duties
You will be responsible for the administration and execution of safety programs as directed by federal, naval, State, Region, Wing and Command regulations, instructions, rules and policies.
You will assist the Aviation Safety Officer and Ground Safety Officer in all mishap and personal injury investigations to include collection of data analysis and evaluation of trends.
You will promote and educate workers in safety strategies, controls, and mishap prevention techniques.
You will prepare the squadron for Fire Marshal inspections and annual Navy Occupational Safety and Health inspections.
You will manage the squadrons traffic safety program and assists in managing the squadrons Safe Ride program, per current Navy policy and as directed by the Executive Officer.
Assist the squadron Flight Surgeon in monitoring medical readiness via the Enterprise Safety Applications Management Systems.
You will manage the Fall Protection Program.
You will work with the Work Center Safety Petty Officer to develop effective safety training programs that include required and mandatory training.
You will receive, maintain and disseminate safety related materials, publications, and information to squadron personnel via bulletin boards, assemblies, Plan of the Day notes, etc.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current XXX certification.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying safety and occupational health standards and techniques to develop effective training safety programs and identify hazardous industrial work in order to mitigate risk and control or eliminate hazardous conditions.
