You will serve as a Ordnance Manager in the NAVY MUNITIONS COMMAND ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will be responsible for managing the safe, efficient and economical operation of all functions and tasks assigned to the Detachment. You will be responsible for the overall success of those functions in meeting mission requirements. You will plan, manage and evaluate program execution on a daily and long-range basis. You will be administratively and technically responsible for managing the logistical and operations support, magazine and/or waterfront and airfield operations as appropriate for the Detachment. You will review on-going ordnance operations to ensure compliance with ordnance publications, directives and safety requirements, and take corrective action to ensure safety of operations. You will review and analyze ordnance logistics and operations requirements and direct changes as required. You will direct and conduct cost comparison/benefit studies of current and projected programs. You will determine and establish the long-and short-range goals and annual objectives for the Detachment in support of the NMC Division's goals and objectives. You will be responsible for maintaining effective labor management relations and ensuring effective communications and positive and constructive working relationship is maintained with the associated bargaining unit(s). You will ensure requirements of the bargaining unit agreement are met and the organization is managed accordingly.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in planning, managing and evaluating program execution on a daily and long range basis. Experience in administratively and technically managing the logistical and operations support, of magazines and waterfront operations. Experience in the overall management and direction of all matters relating to the Detachments Fleet Ordnance Support (FOS) mission. Experience establishing requirements and work priorities and sequencing of operations, equipment and material resources.
