This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans; Center for Prevention Programs, and Partnerships (CP3) .
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an expert analyst and/or advisor to management to support the advancement of targeted violence prevention efforts.
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a Management and Program Analyst, GS-0343-13/14, your typical work assignments may include:
Responsible for reviewing federal grant applications and proposals for completeness and compliance with program and legislative requirements.
Prepares reports; develops and maintains status logs and grant files and other controls over grant activities; analyzes complex problems and situations making decisions and/or recommendations to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and agency policy. Assists in ensuring program success.
Serves as a representative on matters related to the office's grant program. Particularly in the areas of financial and grant management and oversight.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
For this position, specialized experience is defined as: (1) Supporting the awarding and the management of targeted violence and terrorism prevention grants awarded to public, private, or governmental entities, non-profits and universities; AND (2) Applying grant management principles for the purpose of analyzing and evaluating grant programs to ensure and maintain compliance; AND (3) Providing management advice and explaining problems related to grant management activities and processes.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
