Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Intelligence, IEMSD Security Division, with two (2) positions located in Washington, District of Columbia, one (1) position located in Sterling, Virginia and one (1) located in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.

This position starts at a salary of $94,199.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $145,617.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $145,617 (GS-13, Step 10). In this position you will conduct planning of all security programs which impact operational readiness, safety, and security of facilities and technical systems which affect Customs and Border Protection (CBP), other Federal agencies, private entities, and the general public within the CBP Top Secret/Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) facilities. Major duties may include but are not limited to: Planning, scheduling, coordinating, carrying out, and monitoring the effectiveness of the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Personnel Security (PERSEC) program. Managing the SCI nomination process for selected applicants. Providing proficient administrative SCI Security support for cleared personnel, including but not limited to visit certifications, managing Access Control program, processing of foreign contacts, foreign travel, and other appropriate day to day Security support to SCIF operations.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Interpreting and applying several subject matter policies and regulations that apply to the access and protection of classified information. Reviewing, analyzing, and resolving a variety of conventional security problems based on independent review of established criteria, methods, techniques and procedures, and new policy issuances. Determining and recommending alternative methods for resolving problems. Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Independently analyzing and resolving complex security problems. Initiating and leading projects involving the evaluation of security programs and operations. Developing and implementing policy, standards, and procedures for security programs.
