About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Joint Interagency Task Force South, C41 Systems Directorate, C41 Technical Control Div., U.S. Southern Command, Key West, FL 33040 J62
Duties
Serves as a Computer Network Defense Officer responsible for determining overall technical features and cyber protection required for Automated Information Systems (AIS) and networks.
Provide critical cyber security guidance in the areas of Automated Information Systems (AIS), data, telecommunications, and network defense procedures to Information Assurance Security Officers, managers, and general users.
Perform analysis to isolate network/system breaches and determine the appropriate response.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a T5 (or equivalent) investigation.
- Requires Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 5% of the time.

Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes: 1) monitoring cyber security risks for Information Technology (IT) systems such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), Automated Information Systems (AIS), etc., or other similar methods; 2) managing SIEM Log aggregation tools and SIEM events; and 3) analyzing IT security risks and vulnerabilities to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems.
