This position is located in the Department of the Chief Program Officer, Office of AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC).The NCCC is a full-time, team based residential program for men and women ages 18 to 26.
The program is designed to strengthen communities and develop leaders through direct, team-based national and community service. Corps members are assigned to one of four campuses located in Aurora, CO; Sacramento, CA; Vicksburg, MS; and Vinton, IA.
Duties
The incumbent serves as an Administrative Specialist providing administrative and technical support to the National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), Forest Corps. In this capacity, the incumbent will perform a variety of activities to support the implementation and execution of the Interagency Agreement (IAA) with the USDA, Forest Service, that establishes an NCCC Forest Corps.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Serves as point of contact for assuring general administrative and logistical needs are met, including: preparing correspondence, reports, presentation materials, maintaining files; developing tracking tools and systems; and interacting with internal staff members and representatives of external organizations regarding administrative and program needs.
2. Supports the achievement of service project goals by managing Corps Member deployment schedules, managing site visit travel, coordinating project implementation logistics, and contributing to the design, presentation and evaluation of Corps Member training programs.
3. Collaborates with the Forest Corps Project Manager in the preparation of acquisition and spend plans.
4. Monitors the Forest Corps budget. Processes and reconciles fund related documents, procurement requests, vendor payments and travel expenses. Enters data into financial system(s) and establishes and implements quality control measures.
5. Functions as a Contracting Officers Representative (COR). COR Level I certification is required to purchase supplies and equipment.
6. Organizes the ordering and pick-up of Forest Corps vehicles and specialty equipment, e.g., camper shells, tires. As necessary, arranges for the installation of specialty equipment.
7. Issues vehicles to Corps Member teams and tracks vehicle usage. Prepares GSA Fleet Management required reports, including accident reports.

Qualifications
Qualification Requirements: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the mid range of the NY-02 pay band, which would be at, or equivalent to, the GS-8 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
Specialized experience must include all of the following:
Work experience providing a wide variety of administrative support activities for an organization to include all of the following: preparing correspondence, presentation materials, developing tracking tools, arranging meetings, establishing and maintaining files; and
Procuring supplies and equipment and reconciling billing statements; and
Monitoring an organizations budget and preparing budget related reports
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
If you are qualifying based on education alone, you must have a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Such education must be from an accredited institution and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work. You must submit an unofficial copy of your college transcript. You must submit evidence that any education completed in a foreign institution is equivalent to U.S. educational standards. You may also qualify based on a combination of education and experience, if applicable.
