This position is located in the Office of the Inspector General.The supervisor is the Assistant Inspector General for Investigations.This position is Non-Bargaining Unit.This position may require occasional travel.Expenses associated with an interview will be paid; however, expenses associated with a relocation will NOT be paid.This position IS subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure reporting requirements and prohibited security ownership restrictions.

Duties

***Like all positions within the OIG, this is a hybrid-telework position, combining virtual work with in-person work. The in-person component involves attendance at the OIG office, located within the NRC Headquarters building (free garage parking), at least three days per week, that is, at least six days per two week pay period, subject to revision by the Inspector General. There is flexibility as to which in-person days are chosen. The person selected for this position will be required to relocate to the Washington, DC metropolitan area within 120 days after accepting the position if residing more than 50 miles from NRC headquarters.***

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.   SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as experience and training that equipped you with the ability to conduct investigations of allegations to determine violations of laws, regulations, and/or procedures.  Specialized experience also includes the ability to prepare concise and accurate reports of investigations, and allegations. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Demonstrated high level of expertise in writing and editing that is sufficient to write and edit, in great detail, products of extreme complexity and sensitivity.  These products articulate, interpret, and explain important Office of Investigations program information and findings to both a non-technical and technical audience. General knowledge of the mission, function, and programs of an OIG, and of appropriate OIG professional standards to ensure that investigative reports, outgoing correspondence, and other work products reflect the program goals of the OIG and comply with appropriate professional standards. General knowledge and understanding of all data governance related federal legislation and implementing regulations, Executive Orders, federal and agency policies and procedures, case law and precedent decisions related to information disclosure, security, privacy, and protection in order to manage a facility Privacy and FOIA program (FOIA, Privacy Act, Title 38 United States Code and HIPAA Privacy Rule). General knowledge of the agency’s mission, programs, organization and structure and relevant laws, regulations, and related administrative procedures affecting the NRC and the DNFSB. Demonstrated ability to work with investigation staff in a team environment and to deal effectively with personnel to acquire information needed to complete assignments and present the results of investigations. Education
