Social Science Program Coordinator has full responsibility for administering all aspects of the local initiative supporting the health & well-being of employees. Involves assembling and coordinating activities of a diverse planning team of health professionals and representatives from various services.Manages program budget and is the fund control point official for Employee Whole Health Program. Reports annually to Medical Center Leadership on program goals and accomplishments.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Conducts assessment of employees to determine program needs and interests.
Develop training materials for staff educational needs.
Ensure newly hired employees are trained and oriented to the Employee Whole Health program and key activities as part of new employee orientation (NEO).
Promotes the Employee Whole Health program to all employees on all shifts throughout the medical center and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).
Manage program budget and serve as the fund control point official for the Employee Whole Health program.
May serve as a Contracting Officers Representative (COR) for contracts related to the Employee Whole Health program.
Collaborates with other services on the assessment of the health needs of employees.
Develops and delivers classes, seminars, workshops, etc. on various employee whole health topics.
Provides health coaching to employees on an individual basis or in a group setting. Collaborates with the Employee Whole Health Committee and Public Affairs to develop a communications and marketing plan.
Models healthy behavior and provides support and encouragement to employees as it relates to behavior change.
Solicits feedback from employees on needs and expectations for program primarily through web-based questionnaires.
Adjusts program offerings based on employee utilization, satisfaction and effectiveness.
Maintains and updates local policies and procedures related to program to ensure compliance with VHA-level directives and regulations, Medical Center policy, Union Master Agreement, professional guidelines and all accrediting and regulatory agencies.
Completes other duties as assigned by the Whole health Leadership team.
Lead the Whole health Employee wellbeing sub-Committee .
Manages program budget and is the fund control point official for Employee Whole Health Program.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/06/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09.
The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. Basic Requirements:
Degree: Behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. or,
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. or,
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
PREFERRED SPECIALIZED EXPEREINCE: Experience in care Coordination, and the ability to address overall wellness issues for employees throughout the medical center and outlying areas including but not limited to nutrition, mental, emotional, social, physical, and
environmental wellness based on Whole Health (WH} principles and the WH system of care. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-09 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Advising, educating, and assisting with planning, developing, and implementing a newly developed program; Performing data collection and analysis for assigned medical center programs; Experience using a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness; Conducting need assessments of employees to determine program needs and interests, and managing program budget and responsible for purchasing a variety of products, materials, and goods used for promotional opportunities and activities. OR,
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR,
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an appropriate combination of specialized experience and education.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: While some of the work is sedentary including researching, writing, program planning and data analysis, the position will have periods of extensive walking and movement throughout the healthcare system, prolonged standing, and transporting light to medium weight objects. The Employee Whole Health coordinator will also be required to travel between sites (CBOCs and outlying clinics) encompassed in the healthcare system.
