This position is located in Defense Information Systems Agency, SS/Office of the Director, (DDCP4),at Fort Meade, MD.
Duties
Responsible for writing articles, and other materials for public release.
Develops programs designed to inform and educate general and specialized publics about the agency's missions, activities, plans, programs and accomplishments.
Plans, directs and executes comprehensive national campaigns to disseminate highly technical and sometimes very politically sensitive information concerning Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) missions and programs.
Develops the major talking points that are used by command spokespersons throughout the year in response to media and public queries.
Analyzes external environment for the Director and senior staff to include all factors that could influence agency objectives, programs and policies directly or indirectly, to include public and customer perceptions of issues and programs.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-12within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as experience in public affairs planning, directing, and executing local and/or national campaigns; preparing talking points and speeches for senior leaders to present during internal and external public engagements; conducting research using computerized research tools and interviews with technical and subject matter experts; and surveying and analyzing news coverage of an agency's activities.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
