About the Position: This position is located at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

Duties
Performs service area and Quality Assurance/Quality Control QA/QC functions required for compliance, accrediting agencies, and regulatory issues.
Develops and implements plans regarding the various components of the medical records program.
Ensures conscientious Government control over medical records for good medical care, performance improvement, and risk management.
Oversees attendance and leave, typically including approval of ordinary sick, annual leave and vacation schedules.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background check.
- Incumbent may be required to serve a one-year supervisory probation period.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. The following certifications are desired and not required.
RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) from AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association).
Specialize experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) proficient with medical records numbering and filing systems, types (electronic health records, electronic medical records, and personal health records), and formats (electronic, paper, and hybrid); 2) reviewing, auditing, and analyzing clinical medical records for compliance; 3) compile statistical data relating to medical records and/or release medical records; 4) storing, retrieving, maintaining, and retiring medical records.

Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Medical Records Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
