This position is in the Division of Enforcement Litigation, Office of Appeals. The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Attorney under the general supervision of the Director of the Office of Appeals and the Deputy Director.
Duties
As a Supervisory General Attorney (Labor), GS-0905-15, your typical work assignments may include:
Supervising and providing direction and coordination of the work of Appeals attorneys
Reviewing appeals of unfair labor practice allegations
Performing legal research and analysis connected with appeals cases involving the most complex legal issues
Directing the preparation of reports and recommendations to the General Counsel regarding the appeals process
Presenting summaries of cases for decision to the Director or Deputy Director of the Office of Appeals and the General Counsel's Agenda Committee
Preparing memoranda, opinions, and recommendations for disposition of Appeals cases
Other duties as assigned.

IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT
The ideal candidate for the Supervisory General Attorney (Labor) position in the Office of Appeals, possesses lead/managerial and/or supervisory experience to lead a team of professional attorneys. The candidate has subject matter expert knowledge of the National Labor Relations Act and other related statutes. The candidate has strong research and analytical skills that will enable them to review appeals cases and make accurate determinations of findings. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues and senior level management are desired.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level, which has provided them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of a Supervisory General Attorney (Labor) at the GS-15 level. Specialized experience includes:
Experience working with labor, employment, or administrative laws, or similar federal statutory regulations; and
Experience interpreting and applying the National Labor Relations Act and other case law to difficult and novel factual and legal issues in unfair labor practice cases; and
Experience providing authoritative guidance, interpretation, and recommendations on both administrative matters and legal issues based on relevant laws and regulations.

BAR MEMBERSHIP AND CERTIFICATION
Applicants must be an active member of the BAR in good standing of any state, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or any Territorial court under the US Constitution. Your active BAR license must reference BAR number and indicate the status of good standing.
Education
Applicants must have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LL.B or JD).
