About the Position: Serves as a Senior Staff Budget Analyst in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/7, Resource Analysis and Integration Office, Department of Army, participates in all aspects of the Army Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process. Serves as a recognized authority in resource analysis in order to optimize the allocation of Army resources to maximize the benefit to the soldier.
Duties
Identify and define problems, conducts analyses, develops alternatives, and provides recommendations, budget and program information, and guidance to Senior Army leadership for planning, programming, and allocation of resources.
Allocation of resources required to support the Army's multiple and diverse missions, functional areas, geographical dispersion, and transformation demands a continuous cycle of formulating the problem.
Solve complex problems and recommend solutions that arise in the prioritization and integration of Army Budget and Program requirements.
Developing and performing trade-off analyses between competing budgets and programs to balance the Army's total obligation authority with both new and established priorities.
Analyze detailed data within the Army's budget and program to ensure that appropriate resources have been allocated to each program and that resources of related programs are compatible in scope and sufficiency.
Participate in the coordination and development of analyses of various Army budgets and programs and their resource implications in terms of the Army Budget, total Army program, and the POM.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 3 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.

Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes monitor the execution of budgets; review budget requests for compliance with policy; and utilize automated finance systems to complete budget processes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Specialized Experience GS-14: One year of specialized experience which includes provide financial advisory services to leadership concerning budget programs; interpret budgetary guidance and policy to achieve organizational objectives; and Input and/or extract data from financial systems to complete budget functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
