This position is located in the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LMS), VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System (VAECHCS). The incumbent is responsible for inventory management and supplies, purchasing, budget support assistance, data collection, and administrative support duties/office management support, as required for the service.
Duties

Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Serves as the back-up for processing without compensation (WOC) staff such as fellows, residents, trainees, medical technology students and without compensation staff from the University of Colorado that take pathology call for Pathology & Laboratory Management Service (P&LMS).
Performs credentialing entry as needed for WOCs as well as other staff when required.
Provides a comprehensive range of administrative office functions for the P&LMS Service Chief.
Performs general office work to include distribution of notices, preparation of documents/folder for accreditation preparation, ordering of office supplies and distribution of office supplies.
Provides general calendar maintenance clerical services such as maintaining calendars and recording appointments or arranging for meeting administrative details and scheduling conference rooms.
Serves as a back-up for printing and distributing call schedules.
Prepares and maintains spreadsheets for tracking contract payments entered into current electronic invoice system.
Maintains supply and referral testing accounting records on computer.
Prepares bills for laboratory testing performed for Research.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following Specialized Experience requirement.
Specialized Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) in Federal Service that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of a Program Support Assistant, GS-07. Specialized experience includes experience in a healthcare setting performing administrative functions of an office to include working with an electronic billing system; ordering supplies; preparing and maintaining spreadsheets; maintaining calendars and scheduling appointments; and preparing correspondence. NOTE: Your experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.

Physical Requirements: No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Some work may require walking, bending, and lifting up to twenty pounds and climbing stairs.
