This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Information Technology, Division of Security, Privacy Policy and Oversight (DSPPO), Information Security and Privacy Group (ISPG). As a SUPV IT SPEC (SECURITY), GS-2210-15, you will direct staff responsible for the overseeing the IT system security and Privacy Program.

Duties

Directs the planning and controls of privacy and data matching assignments and developing data release and dissemination policies for the agency, determining governance for release of CMS data, and managing associated agreements. Integrates and collaborates with the Division Directors of two ISPG Divisions: the Division of Cyber Threat and Security Operations (DCTSO) and the Division of Security and Privacy Compliance (DSPC) and their staff in support of group functions. Develops goals and objectives that integrate group and division objectives. Designs and implements an integrated ISPG enterprise-wide communications strategy to inform all CMS stakeholders about ISPG policies, initiatives and operational activities. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.

In your resume, you must demonstrate experience that meets the Basic Requirement for the Information Technology series, GS-2210: IT-related experience, demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience obtained in either the private or public sector, and/or completion of specific, intensive training that demonstrates possession of each of the following four competencies: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail; (2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services; (3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; AND (4) Problem-Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. -AND- In order to qualify for the GS-15, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Providing technical guidance in developing and improving Cybersecurity programs; and 2) Establishing security and privacy policies for evaluating risks, threats and vulnerabilities; and 3) Collaborating with stakeholders in the development and implementation of privacy and security policies to enable compliance with Cybersecurity program requirements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
