You will serve as a Distribution Process Worker in the Property Management Department, Warehouse Operations-Crane of the Naval Sea Logistics Center (NSLC).
Duties
You will perform a wide range of warehousing duties including receipt inspection, property disposal, storing, issuing, conducting inventory counts and location audits, and packing and shipping a variety of bin and bulk supplies.
You will unload, stack, issue, rough pack, count, inspect, process and mark stock in accordance with standard warehouse procedures.
You will process inquiries, updates, and inputs to a variety of automated systems and databases.
You will respond to inquiries, perform research, initiate documentation, and complete corrective actions as directed.
You will perform stock readiness actions, including inspections that are performed to determine identification, contract compliance, classification code, proper preservation, packaging, packing, and markings for storage.
You will perform inspections and basic testing of material managed under the shelf-life program and process the correct transaction updates and labeling to either extend the shelf-life of the item or to identify it to the correct condition code.
You will perform packing, packaging, preservation and marking of material received for stock or held in stock locations in order to properly maintain and identify material.
You will perform care of stock in storage/packing of material based on reimbursable customer requests/requirements.
You will utilize a wide variety of packing techniques and methods to ensure stock is adequately and properly protected.
You will determine the appropriate method of packing based on the type of commodity/item to be packed.
You will assure correctness of shipping documents by verifying stock numbers, serial numbers, nomenclature, quantity, condition and ownership of material to be shipped.
You will determine types of cushioning materials or devices to prevent damage of material being shipped.
You will operate material handling equipment (MHE) generally up to 15k to lift, move, and store extremely large/bulky materials.
You will load and unload trucks and tractor trailers.
You will operate other MHE such as mechanical or electric pallet jacks, overhead hoist, man-o-board fork truck, stock picking carts, air pallets, and hand trucks.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain current forklift/material handling equipment license and/or certification within 90 days of appointment.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
