This position is located in the Chief Information Office (CIO) which manages the Information Resources environment for the Forest Service.

Duties
Completes the integration of all video collaboration systems components, e.g., procedures, databases, policies, software, and hardware in scope.
Performs periodic and scheduled analysis on installed video collaboration systems and diagnose problems encountered in systems operations.
Develops plans for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting information technology (IT) collaboration hardware and software.
Participates in the testing of new hardware/software in conjunction with the application developers.
Provides support for any malfunction of hardware or software to make a determination of the malfunction and whether outside assistance is required.
Requirements

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-12: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as three or more of the following: applying analytical processes to the planning, design, and implementation of new and improved information technology systems to meet the business requirements of customer organizations; and/or reviewing general business and functional requirements that support the need for information technology systems; and/or identifying and evaluating potential information technology systems design approaches; and/or working with senior management officials, employees, contractors, and computer personnel from other federal agencies, and vendor representatives.
In addition to the qualification requirements above, applicants must have information technology-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
