This individual will occupy a position as Program Support Assistant for the Iowa City Center for Comprehensive Access & Delivery Research and Evaluation (CADRE), a VA Health Services Research & Development (HSR&D) national Center of Innovation (COIN); and the Veterans Rural Health Resource Center - Iowa City (VRHRC), a national Office of Rural Health (ORH) center; and the Iowa City VA Health Services Research service.

The VA Midwest Health Care Network advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers. Major duties listed but not limited to:
Use data to facilitate required reports and communicate effectively with Center Directors, research investigators and Program Officials regarding proper documentation
Summarize the Center/program information in accord with applicable laws, statutes and program guidance
Collect, manage and document administrative, personnel and training data for Center/program staff
Develop and implement procedures to educate and alert staff regarding requirements, instructions, and deadlines
Distribute, collect, and document training and required oversight materials (status reports, questionnaires, certifications, new employee trainings, annual trainings, etc.)
Draft, distribute, and ensure compliance of staff policies in liaison with Center/program leaders and administrators
Modify procedures to effectively resolve complicated administrative and staffing issues
Manage cyclical and ongoing projects to facilitate the Center/program
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (work hours may be further discussed during the interview)
Telework: 1-2 days allowed per pay period. VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
GS-07 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: assemble, interpret and maintain Center research, budget and program information for national reporting requirements; prepare research documents for submission to competitive national research funding agencies; collect, synthesize and interpret data to build reports and track the data; document administrative, personnel, staffing issues and training data for Center/program staff; develop and implement procedures to educate and alert staff regarding requirements, instructions and deadlines for projects; prepare and maintain Center/program level documentation systems; maintain databases for monitoring/following administrative, research, budget and personnel activities in accordance with applicable laws, statues, program guidance and regulations; and troubleshoot technical and administrative problems that arise in the Center/programs and resolve issues by developing acceptable administrative procedures and/or proposing alternative resolutions.
There is no educational substitution for the GS-07 level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
