You will serve as a Electronics Integrated Systems Mechanic in the Navigational Repair Shop (67J), Strategic Weapons Division (TRF 710), Weapons Repair Department (700) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will adjust equipment (e.g., voltmeters, ohmmeters, field strength meters) to verify optimal working order. You will coordinate repairs, modifications, testing, and alignments with other shop personnel and trades to achieve correct interfacing with other systems and subsystems. You will review blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams when performing electronic integrated system repairs. You will diagnose electronic systems malfunctions and trace through numerous units to locate and correct deficiencies. You will troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, modify, test, align, and adjust electronic equipment used on submarine tactical support and monitoring subsystems. You will certify the accuracy of tests and measurements on electronic integrated systems. You will check electronic characteristics and values of circuits and component parts. You will integrate operable subsystems into a complete functional integrated system.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision such as: Troubleshooting and repairing Navigation Sonar Systems (NSS), Electrostatically Supported Gyro Navigator (ESGN) Systems, Digital Electromagnetic Log (DEML) Systems, Memory Processor (MP) Systems, Strategic Navigation Subsystems (SNS), Instrumentation (TI)/Date Recording Subsystems, and/or Command and Control Systems (CCS) to meet operational specifications. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. Reading and interpreting blueprints, circuit diagrams, technical equipment maintenance and operational manuals and specification. . I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. Applying a broad knowledge of electronic principles, theory and higher mathematics. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
