The primary purpose of this position is: To perform Electronic Security System (ESS) program management functions for the installation Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). Duties encompass program management, intrusion detection certification supporting 55th Wing, 557th Weather Wing, United States Strategic Command and other assigned tenant units. This position as Air Combat Commands largest wing services over 50,000 personnel.
Duties
Ensures compliance with Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) requirements for the protection of installation
PL 1-4 resources.
Monitors all sensor systems for functionality and compliance and ensures IDS requirements are met for the
installation's PL 1-4 resources.
Provides training, advice and certification standards on installed detection, assessment and intrusion systems.
Serves as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and Fixed Site Sustainment (FSS) representative.
Knowledge of a broad range of security forces security systems, concepts, principles and practices including force protection, antiterrorism, resource protection, physical security, integrated base defense, OPSEC, crime prevention, and law enforcement program directives, policies, instructions, specialties, concepts, principles, requirements and technology.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Experience includes a knowledge of a broad range of security forces security systems, concepts, principles and practices including force protection, antiterrorism, resource protection, physical security, integrated base defense, OPSEC, crime prevention, and law enforcement program directives, policies, instructions, specialties, concepts, principles, requirements, technology, and practices to independently make decisions and recommendations, including operations within the Enterprise Protection Risk Management (EPRM) a program providing commanders the ability to view enterprise-wide risk assessments across multiple functional areas to help make informed decisions on where to best allocate resources, as it relates to installation vulnerabilities. -- Knowledge of the operation of required standards for physical protective equipment and systems and the overall AF and AF Security Forces missions, operations, functions, and structure at the unit level to ensure effective implementation and oversight of program plans and processes. Knowledge of special operating requirements, methods, and procedures for enforcing specialized personnel access controls and preventing unauthorized access to areas where stringent security requirements are enforced while able to read and understand written and oral directives and guidance, and skill in oral and written communication methods and techniques at various levels and venues.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a broad range of security forces security systems, concepts, principles and practices including force protection, antiterrorism, resource protection, physical security, integrated base defense, OPSEC, crime prevention, and law enforcement program directives, policies, instructions, specialties, concepts, principles, requirements, technology, and

4. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and conduct surveys, assessments, and projects to effectively evaluate results for the management and completion of programs.
5. Ability to effectively manage and organize various program activities and tasks, singularly and together, and familiar with Air Force and local administrative requirements.
6. Knowledge of security systems, practices, principles, and procedures utilized in their DoD agencies, as well as private industry, to ensure up-to-date security applications.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
