The purpose of the position is to plan and carry out program and administrative support activities related to Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service that support the organization and daily service operations.
Duties
Primary Duties include but are not limited to:
Performs phone call triage support to key clinical programs, which may also include coverage of key specific programs such as amputee clinic, wheelchair clinic, audiology clinic, physical or occupational therapy clinic, plastics clinic, or any other clinic type where there may be a program support need or coverage need required.
Acts as point of contact for clinical areas that may arise on a day-to-day basis regarding clinical and administratively related job duties.
Performs Timekeeping duties.
Monitors and reviews past and present program resources, forecast requirements to identify tends, discrepancies, and problems requiring further study by higher level employees.
Receives calls and correspondence.
Screens written communications from customers.
Perform significantly complex research using the different software applications and reports.
Uses computer to produce accurate and efficient work.
Composes letters and other services to request information.
Works independently without direct supervision for most administrative functions.
Meets the needs of customers while supporting VA missions. Consistently communicates and treats customers (Veterans, visitors, staff, and internal and external providers) in a courteous, tactful, and respect manner.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/30/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. **Award 50's do not provide sufficient information and will not be accepted for the purpose of verifying time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Monitoring electronic accesses for new hire employees & alert appropriate entities to ensure timely access.
Assisting in the preparation of supply and equipment, ordering packages and submission of equipment packages.
Performing timekeeping & clinical profile related duties such as building tour of duty schedules, maintaining any and all tour of duty changes.
Submitting and managing required regulatory reporting items such as Equipment Inventory Lists, Cascade Callback Lists, Chemical Inventory, etc.
Developing, maintaining, and updating overall records management of vital records, duplicate records, and electronic records on the service drive and service SharePoint site.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically the employee may sit comfortably to perform portions of the work. However, there is periodic walking, standing, bending, carrying light items instructional material books and manuals. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Environment: The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, libraries, and residences
