About the Position: This position is located at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina.

Duties

Update and maintain current locator system to include civilian employees, assigned officers, and enlisted personnel. Provide patients and their family members with information regarding various clinic schedules. Inputs and retrieves information from automated systems. Monitor temperature sensitive medical products with regard to established guidelines. Assist visitors with directions, escorting to desired departments, and/or transporting patients by wheelchair as needed.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.

General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as, greeting customers both telephonically and in person to ascertain the nature of the call or visit; utilizing office automation systems to enter and retrieve data; and providing assistance or directions to customers within an organization. OR Education: Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Manages and Organizes Information Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks may not be promoted more than 2 grades within the preceding 52 weeks.
