You will serve as a Non-nuclear Quality Assurance (QA) Division Supervisor in the QA Department of SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING GROTON.

Duties

You will perform as a Non-nuclear Quality Assurance (QA) Division Supervisor in the QA Department of the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion, and Repair, USN, Groton, Connecticut (SSGR). You will provide the technical advice and guidance necessary to ensure subordinates understand the basic assignment objectives. You will establish priorities and schedules for accomplishing tasks and achieving goals within the Division. You will assign individual work assignments (e.g., audits, procedure reviews, and surveillance of processes and programs) based on priorities, Division/Department goals, and consideration of the qualifications of the individuals. You will interact with senior Department Management and Leadership, Command Department Heads, the Contractor's organization, and external activities to ensure necessary coordination of quality program efforts. You will review completed assignments and work in progress to ensure objectives are being met. You will plan and direct work of the Division and provide a high level of expertise and creativity for the solution of Shipbuilding Production and Quality Assurance problems involving construction, conversion, and repair contracts for naval ships.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every two (2) years, in accordance with DoDI 5000.66.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading quality assurance inspections, assessments, or surveillance of contractor performance, operations, or quality control processes to ensure compliance with shipbuilding requirements.
