This HQ/NCLCP, Division of Education, Cultural and Paleontological Resources (HQ420) position is located in Grand Junction, CO. Information about Grand Junction and the surrounding area can be found here.

Duties
Provides expertise to the Division Chief, the Education Program Lead, and the BLM’s Senior Archaeologist for efforts involving national heritage, education efforts, programs, partnerships, and provides support to Headquarters and Field Office staff.
Maintains a working knowledge of the cultural resources programs issues and activities on BLM public lands, develops and implements a comprehensive heritage education and training program, including training opportunities for students.
Develops high-quality educational resources and delivery systems for classrooms and the general public about cultural resources on public lands.
Establish programs to increase public awareness of the significance of the archaeological resources located on public lands and
the need to protect such resources.
Resources are developed for both classrooms and informal settings. Manage the conception, development, production, and oversight of written and graphic content for national level digital media platforms.

Qualifications

For GS-12: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Experience developing cultural heritage training programs and heritage education resources for distribution. Experience using computer applications such as web authoring software packages, visual arts software packages, desktop publishing, computer simulations, or multi-media in an educational context. Experience analyzing and presenting appropriate messages to youth audiences and educators.
There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at this grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
