About the Position: Serves as a Material Handler (FLO), performing a variety of warehousing tasks such as receiving, storing, and inventorying of supply items and materials.

Duties

Receiving trucks, unloads inbound freight, equipment and containers received. Loads /Unloads materials and equipment for tactical and non-tactical units and organizations Operates forklifts. Perform inventories; breaks down multi-packs; oversees short-term storage, processing of receipts, accountability of property.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a 10,000 lb forklift certification.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Handler (Forklift Operator) without more than normal supervision performing stacking and/or palletizing items; selecting, inspecting, verifying quantity, and properly assembling items for shipment or issue; and driving transport vehicles and/or operating forklifts up to 10,000 lbs - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal SupervisionAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc.Dexterity and SafetyKnowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) Physical Effort - Incumbent is subject to prolonged standing on hard surfaces, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, positions and carries supplies and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Moderate physical effort is required to operate hand and foot controls of a 1/2 ton pickup truck and forklifts. Working Conditions - Works inside and outside in cold, damp, drafty and hot areas. Subject to injury from falling objects, collisions, shifting loads and overturning. Hearing protection devices and/or safety equipment must be worn during all periods of time exposed to the hazardous condition(s).
