You will serve as a Security Specialist in the II Marine Expeditionary force (II MEF) of II MARINE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.
Duties
You will Ensure required clearances are up-to-date and completed as a part of maintaining the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance program.
You will Enforce Physical Security regulations to meet organizational safety readiness goals or objectives.
You will Develop and administer a contingency plan for Information Security which includes safeguarding classified material, emergency destruction, or reporting of emergency destruction.
You will Evaluate Information Security procedures (e.g., classification, marking, downgrading, declassification of technical documents or information) to confirm they are being completed according to program requirements.
You will Compile information for submission to the Security Manager for determination whether clearances should be granted, suspended, revoked, or denied as appropriate.
You will Maintain control of encrypted sensitive data files and classified messages that access data through remote terminals.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top-Secret w/ SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- Must successfully complete Security Managers Course, Special Security Officer course, and Basic Information Security training within one year of hire
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: operating a security program; ensuring compliance with personnel security standards and programs; AND maintaining an electronic investigation background program.
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting in operating a security program; assisting in compliance with personnel security standards and programs; AND assisting in maintaining an electronic investigation background program.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on meeting at least one of these educational accomplishments OR an equivalent combination of experience and education, as follows:
GS-11:
- Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
- Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

GS-09:
