You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONICS SHOP PRODUCTION MANAGER in the Production Resources Department, Electrical/Electronics Shop of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will plan and oversee all work performed within the assigned area of the Electrical/Electronics Shop.
You will evaluate work performance and assist in solving difficult technical problems.
You will provide guidance and specific instructions in order to accomplish the overall mission of the Electrical/Electronics Shop.
You will determine the manpower, tooling, materials, methods and training required.
You will represent the Electrical/Electronics Shop at numerous meetings and conferences.
You will review and analyze production reports, cost data, and personnel utilization records.
You will make recommendations for selection, promotion, transfer or separation of subordinates.
Requirements

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience applying shipyard production electrical/electronics trades and technical methods, practices and procedures.
Experience planning and coordinating complex shop repair and overhaul work.
Experience applying quality control, cost control, schedule control and work flow control techniques related to Electrical/Electronics Shop operations.
Experience investigating practices and problems and recommending/initiating effective improvements and solutions.
Experience administrating budget and managing personnel.
