This position will be assigned to the JBSA Lackland NAF Human Resources Office.
This is a Regular Full-Time category position with guaranteed 40 hrs. per week. Employees appointed to a Regular category position are eligible for benefits.
Duties
Serves as Receptionist for the Human Resources Office (HRO) assisting walk-in and call-in customers. Assists job seekers, providing information on job openings, and preferences, as well as information on using the USA Jobs website. Provides information to supervisors and employees regarding general personnel information found in commonly used regulations, instructions or manuals. Refers walk-ins and telephone callers to appropriate person if unable to take care of personally. Picks up mail and packages from main office. Responsible for maintaining a log of all office correspondence and ensuring its timely distribution to the appropriate staff member. Serves as Records Custodian, establishing and maintaining all office files in accordance with records management directives. Post job vacancies on Facebook website. Responsible for processing and tracking required paperwork for awards and recognition programs. Track and send out emails on probationary period. Complete employee verification. Maintains I-9 Tracker and sends out letters to employees with expiring work permits. Responsible for the maintenance of the Official Personnel Folders, filing paperwork in folders and replacing folders and labels as needed. Creates letter and listing of OPFs that are ready to be staged and stages Official Personnel Folders each month. Maintains customer area clean and tidy, and ensures that the employee bulletin boards are maintained. May be assigned an activity to learn staffing procedures. Other duties as assign.

Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have experience in responsible clerical or office work of any kind in which the applicant performed the same or similar duties as described above. Strong organizational skills required. Experience and skill in the use of office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office including Word and Access) is required.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the bases of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Excellent customer service skills to include a good speaking voice.
2. Must have a friendly and helpful attitude.
3. Knowledge of office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel)
4. Strong organizational skills required.
5. Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
