This is a temporary position not to exceed 09/30/2024 in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service of the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System in Aurora, CO. The incumbent serves a variety of roles to assist the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival Program Manager, Administrative Officer, and the Supervisor of Recreation Therapy to accomplish the service's goals. The incumbent must effectively and efficiently perform data management, advanced computer tasks, and office management.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Serving as a member of the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival (NVCAF) Program Management Team and is point of contact to community partners in regard to NVCAF
Resolves administrative issues and problems at the appropriate level
Responsible for coordinating administrative duties for the sub-section in an effort to guarantee the primary goal of optimally delivering high quality services to festival veterans.
Maintains daily/monthly/yearly calendar; makes appointments and arranges conferences and meetings without specific prior approval based on knowledge of NVCAF Program Manager's schedule.
Keeps Program Manager informed of meetings, appointments, and other commitments
Assembles required files and information for meetings
Answers question and completes business involving established policy on routine matters
Makes local or long-distance calls for the Program Manager.
Other duties as assigned
Work Schedule: Full time temporary position - not to exceed 09/30/2024. Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Ad-hoc telework available

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary requiring sitting, standing, walking, bending, and carrying light objects. The position demands periods of intense concentration and the ability to maintain control in difficult situations.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Preferred Experience: Administrative experience, program management, government purchase card experience
GS-07 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Making appointments and arranging meetings, data management and analysis, completing non-technical correspondence, ability to use electronic equipment (i.e., scanners, laminators, etc.), experience with purchase cards.
There is no educational substitution for the GS-07 level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
