You will serve as the Cybersecurity Compliance Specialist in the Information Systems Department, Information Assurance Division (Code CN6200) of the Chief of Naval Air Training Headquarters, Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, Texas.
Duties
You will provide risk management planning and technical guidance for the assessment and authorization of networks, systems, applications, and associated computer hardware and software resources for customers within the Naval Air Training Command.
You will participate in the execution of the Department of Defense Risk Management Framework for Information Technology within the Naval Air Training Command enterprise operating environment.
You will conduct security reviews to ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures in accordance with National Institute of Standards and Technology guidelines and Security Technical Implementation Guides.
You will assess the security posture of the Naval Air Training Command common operating environment utilizing a variety of manual and automated tools to ensure host monitoring, response, and remediation capabilities are up-to-date and effective.
You will ensure the security protections of current and newly developed Information Technology Portfolios are adequately tested with adequate and up-to-date information related to cybersecurity standards.
You will provide change management and configuration control for the Naval Air Training Command Information Technology hardware and software baseline configurations.
You will manage the Command Information Technology Configuration Control Board and serve as the Configuration Control Board Facilitator, ensuring Information Technology resources and processes are under configuration management control.
You will utilize IT security principles and methods to develop management controls that ensure System Portfolios are technically feasible and compatible in order to adequately support mission objective, testing, inspection, and sustainment.
You will liaise with end-user customers to clarify requirements by using requirement analysis principles and methods and/or evaluation of Commercial Off The Shelf products and components.
You will ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all Information Technology services.

- This is a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 612 (Security Control Assessor) at the Intermediate level within 12 months of appointment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying Information Technology security principles to monitor and evaluate systems' compliance with cybersecurity requirements. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Education
Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
- A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks; OR
- Three full years (54 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or three full years (54 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
