You will serve as a Attorney Advisor for the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Capital Access (OCA), Processing and Disbursement Center - PDC in Fort Worth, Texas.
Duties
As a/an Attorney Advisor at the GS-0905-12, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Provides legal advice to Applications Processing and/or Accounts department of the Processing and Disbursement Center, including reviewing draft loan approvals for legal sufficiency, closing loans, or working on special projects as assigned.
Review draft loan authorizations for home loans, business loans, and economic injury loans to a variety of ownership entities, such as individuals, sole proprietor, partnerships, limited partnerships, corporations, limited liability corporations, and limited liability partnerships.
Documents all interactions and file events with clear and concise entries in the comments section of file in accordance with agency policy and procedures.
Serves as lead over team of attorneys and/paralegals.
Manages portfolio of loans and performs all loan closing duties including most difficult and complex cases while complying with portfolio management directives.

This is an Excepted Service position and will be filled through an alternate hiring process and is not in the competitive service.
Additional selections may be made from this announcement if identical vacancies occur within 180 days from the closing date.

Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government travel credit card.
- Favorable background investigation and credit check are required.
- Current and active member in good standing of the bar of a state, territory of the US, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and eligible to practice law.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification Requirements:
Applicants must be law school graduates with LL.B. or J.D. degrees AND applicants must be an active member in good standing of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico bar.
Education completed in colleges or universities outside the United States may be used to meet the above requirements. You must provide acceptable documentation that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States. Additional Qualification Requirements:
Generally, time in Non-Pay status is not creditable towards the specialized experience requirement listed below.

Experience: To receive credit, you must indicate the month and year as well as the average hours worked per week for each employer. GS-12: To qualify you must have at least 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-11 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a Non-Federal service position. In addition, this Specialized Experience must demonstrate the following:
Utilizing a web-based computer loan processing and/or loan closing system.
Communicating orally and in writing ideas, data, and/or information to various levels of management (or audiences), fellow employees and/or customers.
Closing and disbursing home (consumer or mortgage) and business (commercial) loans.
Reviewing home and business loan documents for legal sufficiency and compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines; AND
Leading or supervising projects or a team of employees.
