This position is located at the Armed Forces Retirement Home- Gulfport (AFRH-G) in Health Care Services. The Social Worker performs clinical work independently in providing a wide range of challenging social work services that are essential to the wellbeing of Residents/families in Long-Term Care (LTC) and Independent Living.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience: For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Working with a geriatric population where the incumbent was responsible for providing admission preparation, assessment, counseling, day-to-day assistance initiation and revision of care plans and integrate services to effectively coordinate resident/patient care. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows:3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. AND Licensure: Must possess a state issued Social Worker's license AND A Social Worker's license to practice as an independent licensed practitioner. AND Education: Must possess a master's degree in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. You must provide transcripts at time of application. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-9 level for 52 weeks Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
