This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs , Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6), VA Medical Center, Medicine Service, Salisbury, NC.
Duties
Responsible for collecting, compiling and/or tracking statistical information and preparing data/reports related to the administrative, clinical, and technical aspects of the program for submission.
Provides clinic utilization reports and works directly with MSA's for any appointment changes.
Serves as liaison and support for multiple programs within Medicine Service.
Establishes and maintains records and files according to written guidelines. Updates and maintains program memorandums.
Performs clerical or technical program support work for a variety of technical and/or program specialists.
Provides general clerical public contact support services such as answering the telephone, referring/routing visitors, or providing information about the office, its functions, and standard operating procedures, as well as similar information.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/01/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience GS-5: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-4 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Experience in office automation word processing functions; Tracking data; Utilizing various software; Typing correspondence; Perform other various administrative functions such as tracking time and attendance or establishing and maintaining records and/or files. Applicants may substitute education for the experience; four years of course study above high school is the requirement for the GS-5.
Specialized Experience GS-6: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-4 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: adhering to regulations, laws, procedures, methods and techniques unique to the service; and Extracting information from various sources for research analysis; and Performing duties including answering inquiries and making administrative arrangements where necessary; and Collaborating with internal and external customers to complete and/or resolve a wide range of assignments and problems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Applicants may substitute education for the experience; four years of course study above high school is the requirement for the GS-5.
