This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. Incumbent serves as an Archives Technician with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA); Agency Services (A); Federal Records Centers Program (AF); and works under the supervision of a supervisor or higher-graded technician. Incumbent performs various duties related to the delivery, transfer, reference, and accessioning or disposition of records, and provides assistance to agency customers.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. This position requires candidates to pass a physical abilities test designed to measure candidates' ability to perform the physical requirements of the job. The test requires carrying 30-50 pound boxes like those found on the job. It also requires bending, squatting, and walking to reach the boxes in addition to climbing and balancing on a pulpit ladder up to 15 feet high. For the GS-4, you must have one year of general experience which includes progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. OR 2 years of education above high school. OR Combination of general experience and education.
