This position will be assigned to the Air Force Service Center at Port San Antonio, TX.
This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.
Duties
The incumbent performs duties as a network and system administrator for the Air Force Gaming Program. Assures application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of network services. Implements program security measures and tools for optimal gaming experience. Configures enclave perimeter firewalls, servers, switches and routers. Establishes and maintains remote connectivity for OCONUS bases. Ensures proper system configuration for optimal availability and functionality. Develops and maintains configuration management plans for complex, multi-site, wide-area and local networks (WAN/LAN). Develops network maps; back-up and recovery procedures. Implements network modifications and enhancements. Observes network traffic patterns and identifies performance metrics. Monitors network and gaming systems' machine performance. Troubleshoots network, Gaming Control System (GCS) and gaming machine problems. Documents anomalies and system failures for future use. Tests and installs network, servers, workstations, cat5/cat6 cabling, gaming machines, and gaming systems. Coordinates system fixes and network updates. Addresses opportunities and challenges of implementing transformational technology (vitalization, cloud computing) into the Federal environment. Manages accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment. Supports end user requirements and requests. Integrates hardware and software components within the systems environment. Evaluates, recommends, and installs compilers, assemblers and utilities. Maintains hardware and software obsolescence, and life-cycle requirements. Evaluates new systems engineering technologies and their effect on the operating environment. Organizes the installation, testing, operation, and maintenance of hardware and software systems. Recommends hardware upgrades based on emerging software requirements. Works with system manufacturer to rectify system anomalies. Provides technical and system assistance to regional offices, bases, activities, and local gaming technicians. Trains base level technicians on system troubleshooting techniques, minor system adjustments, and equipment maintenance. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain an IA certification IAW DoD 8570-01-M within six months from date of hire.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Security + certification within twelve months from date of hire.
- This position requires CONUS and OCONUS travel for official business.

Qualifying Experience:
Education: Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, information systems management, or technology management; or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in or one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Experience: Installing and configuring firewalls (i.e., Cisco, Juniper, McAfee, or equivalent) and network operating systems (i.e., Windows Server, Virtual Machine (VM)ware, Unix, z/OS, or equivalent); experience working with Storage Area, Local Area, and Wide Area networks (i.e., setting up, providing technical support, and/or maintaining networks); experience using database query language (i.e., Structured Query Language-SQL, Data Manipulation Language-DML, or equivalent) to communicate with database management systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Real-time hands-on Casino Gaming System knowledge.
Knowledge in the implementation and functionality of the Privilege Access Management solutions - CyberArk, Centrify, Beyond Trust, Thycotic, preferably vendor certified.
Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining network monitoring tools and applications. (Nagios, PRTG, SolarWinds).
Advanced knowledge and hands on with active directory.
